ORIBE SUPERSHINE MOISTURIZING CREAM

ORIBE SUPERSHINE MOISTURIZING CREAM is absolutely the BEST.

WOW! How did I ever live without this product!!!!??? This stuff is amazing. I could not stop touching my hair after I was done blow drying.  Since using this cream I have been able to replace both my detangler and shine serum. My hair is beyond shiny, has bit of bounce, polished style, and very appealing scent, all without looking like I used anything at all. It also seems to do a much better job taming my frizzies than my Moroccan oil, without any weigh down. Absolutely no flyaways, even on rainy days.  This is a must in my daily hair routine LOVE LOVE LOVE

Can Ombre Coloring Work on Short Hair??

Don’t Go Drastic......

What really makes this look work so well is the natural finish. The difference between the two colors should be subtle, natural looking, and change from one color to the other gradually.  A drastic finish which has a very obvious two-tone hair color result is not nearly as nice looking.

When deciding on your lighter shade, choose whatever color is 3 or 4 shades lighter than your darker hair colorThis will keep the balance between the two colors as flattering and as natural looking as possible. Don't forget to also keep in mind that it might take more than one coloring session to get to the balance of colors that you want.

Don’t Forget About Maintenance....

You may be able to get away with only a few color touch ups a year, but you do need to remember to keep up with those salon appointments so your color looks fresh. You will also need to takes steps to ensure your hair is well nourished so your strands stay healthy.

Shellac Report for Fashion Friday......

I’m talking about shellacs......

I got my first shellac job — I’m not gentle with my hands, either. During those weeks, I was washing dishes, digging through my purse, scraping off stickers, picking at jewelry clasps, typing and typing and typing and typing and typing. The manicure survived. It did more than survive — it flourished. It looked every bit as awesome two weeks after I got it done as it did when I walked out of the salon. It was visibly growing out at the base long before it started to chip at the tips. When they say it’s long-lasting, they are not  kidding.

The best part about it is you don’t have to wait for your nails to dry! There is no waiting period. Once they are painted, your hands are free to do whatever.

And lastly, it looks amazing. The colors are gorgeous and very shiny. What's better than having a perfect, un-chipped manicure that lasts several days? One that last for up to 3 weeks! Enjoy!

Hair and Humidty.......

Top Pick for Taming Hair in the Humidity..

Moroccan oil is also commonly referred to as argan oil.  One of the main benefits of argan oil is that it moisturizes the hair and reduces frizz. Argan oil is especially beneficial for women with naturally dry or coarse hair, color-treated hair, and African-American hair types. Those with wavy hair that tends to get frizzy throughout the day may also benefit from this hair oil.

Due to its moisturizing benefits, Moroccan oil is an excellent frizz and breakage reducer. This makes it a beneficial option for women who frequently use flat irons, curling irons, rollers, and blow dryers during their daily hair care maintenance. In fact, many hair stylists recommend using argan oil during the hairstyling process because it makes the hair easier to manage. This can be a great way to reduce heat damage.

Moroccan Oil offers vitamins and nutrients which make the hair strong and healthy. Vitamin E, Vitamin F, and phenols are some of the nutrients which are found in argan oil. In addition, argan oil offers UV ray protection. This makes it a great product to pack  when hitting the beach.

New Trendy Style from the 60s

How to Wear Scarve Headbands........

Lately there has been a resurgence of headbands seen worn on celebrities, teenagers, and young women everywhere. Where did this trend come from? In the 1960's, headbands in a myriad of styles were popular on "mods" and hippies. The mod style of the headband was a wide accessory that was worn across the top of the head. They were usually a solid color and went with their go-go boots and mini skirts or dresses. Hippies wore theirs in more of a ninja style around the crown of their head. They either tied a scarf or bandanna around long locks or had a more natural one that was full of flowers.

There are also some unconventional ways to wear headbands today. One idea is to braid a piece of one's hair and wrap it around the head to give the appearance of a head band made out of hair. This is a hippie or bohemian relaxed look. Also, stylish sunglasses can be used to keep the hair pulled back by putting them on the head and pushing the bangs back. This is a great beach or summer look.
With so many ways to wear head bands today, everyone can use this chic, cute accessory to complement any wardrobe, style, or personality!

Amazing Owners of Salon Astante tells us how to Rock the Bangs......

1.Blunt Bangs are perfect for longer face shapes as they help balance the proportion.  As an added bonus, they also are a great way to accentuate your eyes because the solid line draws attention directly to them!  Just look how these blunt bangs draw your attention directly toward Leona's dramatic eyes.

2. Side Swept Bangs are the most versatile and look great on all face shapes and with all textures of hair. Bangs swept to the side are soft and romantic and a wonderful way to add interest to longer hair. Fringe softly swept to the side softens Nicole Richie's face .
