CHALK TIME

You'll need:
Soft pastel chalk. We picked this giant set up from a local craft store for about $5!
A small spray bottle filled with water
A flat iron or curling iron
Rubber gloves
A old towel or t-shirt you don't mind getting color on.

Step 1: Spray a 1-inch section of hair with water. You don't need to soak the entire strand, just go as high up as you want the color to be.
Step 2: Color on your hair with one of the pastels. I recommend choosing about threehair chalkingcolors, and putting one at a time in your hair. Start with the lightest shade first, since, as you can see, the color gets all over your gloves and you'll end up with a muddied version of the same hue throughout if you go dark to light.
Step 3: Wait for your hair to air dry. This was the hardest part for me - I was so anxious to see the final look!
hair chalkingStep 4: Using the curling or flat iron, go over each colored strand. This sets the colors in your hair, so it will last longer. Then brush and style however you normally would!
The color stayed in my hair (which is naturally medium blonde)for about a week, while my friend's (who bleaches her hair) washed out the next day. The best part about this technique is that it works for girls with darker hair too, although the color is much more subtle.

Breaking Down Beauty

 The Aspirin Mask

One of my all-time favorite is what’s commonly referred to as the “Aspirin Mask”. Costing mere pennies per application, it is a quick, easy, and effective way to keep your skin smooth and acne free.
The ingredient that makes the magic happen is salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that helps clean out pores and battle acne-causing bacteria.

Step One: There are two main ingredients in the aspirin mask: water, and uncoated or lightly-coated aspirin. I rarely come across uncoated aspirin, so I use a lightly-coated generic brand, and it works great. For your face, all you need are 2-3 tablets.

Step Two: The aspirin tablets will dissolve in water, so you don’t really to put a lot of work into preparation. It’s best to use a small bowl, I happen to do all the mixing in my hand. Just a few drops of water will do.

Step Three: Massage the tablets in your hand until they’re dissolved and form a mushy paste. There isn’t a binding agent, so the paste will be fairly loose and flaky.

Step Four: Apply! Let rest for about five minutes, and then rinse away. The dried mask will be powdery, so be careful! Alternately, you can incorporate aloe vera or honey with the mushed up aspirin to act as healing binding agents.

Step Five: Moisturize and you’re set!

The Aspirin Mask is quick and works – I’ll do the mask a night or two before an big event- its like an at-home mini-peel that makes your skin so smooth and let your foundation glide on. You can do the mask as often as you’d like, as long as it doesn’t overly irritate your skin. Of course, if you’ve never done the mask before it’s best to do a patch test for allergies first on your neck.

Tips on Waxing

How to Get a Perfect Wax

Let it Grow: The hair on legs and bikini area should be a quarter-inch long, if it's fine and a half- inch long if it's coarse. That means you will need to wax every two to four weeks.

Prepare Yourself: If you're waxing anywhere on your face, don't use retinol products or some antibiotics for a week beforehand. The morning of your appointment, exfoliate but skip lotion.

Mange the Pain: Take two Advil an hour before you appointment. If the waxing still hurts, ask the technician to work on smaller areas. Apply hydro-cortisone cream to any bumps.

There's a move toward a little more coverage: The landing strip can make your hips look bigger and accentuate your tummy bulge.

NAIL IT: FALL 2012'S TOP MANICURE TRENDS

Backstage manicurists threw their support behind classic shades of rich burgundy and midnight blue that picked up on the strong, feminine attitude of the collections. Keep your nails short and square with rounded corners and apply two generous layers of lacquer finished with a glossy top coat for a take-charge effect.

For the nail polish obsessed, the best accessory for fall is lacquer. So what shades generated the most buzz at fashion week? Think deep, dark variations of red and navy offset by cool tones of minimalist white and beige. The bigger moments of drama belonged to pop-art effects and touches of texture (leather nails!) worn in an unexpected way. Click ahead for a look at the stand-out trends, plus check out the bestmakeup and hair trends from the fall runways.

Emma Watson Grows Up.....

22-year-old actress Emma Watson reveals her sexier side for the October 2012 issue of Glamour US. Famous for her cute pixie cut, Watson says that she now has to grow her hair for the roles. "I have to for roles. But if I had it my way, I would have just kept it short forever. Of course, men like longhair. There’s no two ways about it. The majority of the boys around me were like, 'Why did you do that? That’s such an error.' And I was like, 'Well, honestly, I don’t really care what you think!' I’ve never felt so confident as I did with short hair — I felt really good in my own skin," she says.

Miley Hot or Not ?!?

We applaud Miley’s individuality!

Miley Cyrus has been changing up her look so often, it’s hard to keep up! Her cropped edgy blonde cut is the latest change, and it’s quite a departure! A look this sever takes guts to do and pull off, and Miley, 19,  is rocking the look with confidence. A source close to her tells HollywoodLife, “her new look is solely devoted to trying something new, she isn’t doing it for her new album, a film role or just to scare people”
